The Cusco Weavers: Guardians of a Beautiful Textile Heritage

The Cusco weavers, guardians of a beautiful textile heritage, are living examples of their ancestors, who with devotion and skill, transform natural fibers into extraordinary creations.

From the warping (preparation of the threads to pass them through the loom), each woven thread has a cultural story, incorporating patterns and symbols for which each community stands out. Their ability to combine vibrant colors reflects where they are from and their main natural attractions, for example: in Chinchero textiles, red, blue and black colors predominate, and their designs feature the Piuray and Huaypo lagoons, which surround the town.

Victoria in Chinchero, Graciela in Huilloc, Cerafina in Paucartambo and Pascualino in Cusco are pure inspiration, you can feel the love and pride for their textiles when they tell you about the extraction of the wool, the warping process, the washing of the threads and the natural dyeing until it reaches the wonderful loom and MAGIC happens!

Their art is a connection to the past, an expression of identity and a timeless gift to the world.
